4/30/10 - BY POPULAR DEMAND! 6 more weeks of DODGEBALL!

Friday nights at the Bridgton Town Hall, from 6:30 to 9, from 4/30 to 6/4

Although we're starting a Summer Dodgeball league in June, the people have spoken! Why wait months to continue with the fun? We're wedging in one more FRIDAY NIGHT season from April 30th to June 4th!

An inexpensive, athletic and fun way to start the weekend, this league will run for 6 weeks and only costs $5 a night or $25 for the entire season if you pay on the 30th. All proceeds - almost $1,500 so far - benefit the Bridgton Community Recreation Complex.

Also... We're pleased to announce the Super Summer Dodgeball Tournament!

We've just set the dates for our biggest, baddest most official dodgeball event EVER! You've been warming up for one whole year - now time to put your skills to the test.

On Tuesday nights at 6:30 ALL SUMMER LONG (from June 22 to August 24th), we're going to be running a summer-long Dodgeball Tournament.

4/10/10 - All-you-can-eat dinner. A fundraiser for Laurie's field

Shakers Lounge on Rt 11 in Naples, across from Edes Falls Rd.

4:30-6:30 all-you-can-eat sit down dinner, spaghetti, roast beef, ham, salads, deserts, drinks.

$10.00 for each adult, $4.00 for kids under 10. We will be holding raffles during the meal. All proceeds will be going to the Laurie Carter Bergen field at the Bridgton Community Recreation Complex.

2/10 - BRAG meets HAM Foundation Challenge Grant

The Bridgton Recreation Advancement Group is very proud to announce it has met the challenge put forth by The Kendall C. and Anna Ham Charitable Foundation, to raise $50,000.00 in cash and pledges towards the Bridgton Community Recreation Complex. The Ham Foundation matched the funds raised. The Kendall C. and Anna Ham Charitable Foundation, a significant contributor to many important projects in our area, has also invested in a new bridge into Pondicherry Park for Stevens Brook Elementary Students.

This grant allows BRAG to hit the ground running this spring. As soon as conditions allow, Project Manager Jim Quinn will organize the many contractors that have expressed interest in donating equipment and labor to the Bridgton Community Recreation Complex. The cleared property now needs stumping, leveling, drainage and seeding.

Bridgton is blessed in many ways, and with the support of The Ham Foundation, the future of this historic town is very bright.

1/27/10 - Masons Donate to BRAG

The Oriental Lodge no.13 of Bridgton presented a check for $1528.00 to Bridgton Recreation Advancement Group President Bill Macdonald at a recent ceremony.

In November, the Lodge hosted a Hunters' Breakfast to benefit the Bridgton Community Recreation Complex. The Maine Masonic Charitable Foundation generously chose to match the proceeds. Lodge Master Chris Decapua stated “We are a charitable organization and contributing to this community project will be a benefit to children and their families. We are proud to help any way we can.” The ceremony followed a fantastic boiled dinner served up by the hosts. Lodge members offered words of encouragement and they look forward to the progress to be made in 2010. BRAG is grateful to have their support.
